Jenni Smith-Gaynor

Jenni works with science fiction, fantasy and horror writers, specializing in helping new writers develop and strengthen their big worlds, multi-character plots, and multi-book-series fatigue.

She started at Penguin Books, then moved to Ballantine Del Rey where she joined the Online Writers Workshop project launched by Ellen Keyes Harris. The OWW is a peer-review workshop where professional writers and editors offered critiques once a month in the newsletter, a professional voice in the mix of this community-building site. Many of the writers Jenni helped went on to find agents, book contracts, and a traditional publishing career.

Now working in both traditional print and in the world of e-publishing, Jenni continues, along with the rest of the publishing world, to guide writers – always remembering: it’s the story that counts.
