Introducing Lucky Bat Books’ New Managing Editor

Introducing Lucky Bat Books’ New Managing Editor

Welcome, Joelle Fraser.

All of us at Lucky Bat Books are pleased and thrilled — and just plain old happy — to add Joelle Fraser to our managing editors team. Joelle, a published author and an experienced college writing instructor, has already served as an editor for Lucky Bat Books.

Now she joins Lucky Bat Books as a managing editor. She’s shepherding books through the publishing process, determining what becomes a Lucky Bat Book, working with artists on cover concepts and design, creating ebooks and beautiful print books—and also continuing to apply her top-level editing skills for our authors.

What a Team This Is!

Lucky Bat Books Managing Editors

She becomes one of six managing editors, and as I sit here, I am struck with the thought that this is a good time to give a shoutout to all of the team. So, here they are: Presenting!

Julie Ricks

Julie Ricks

Julie Ricks, was the first to join Cindie Geddes and me (Jude). Julie is a professional editor, a ghost-writer of major talent, a writer of her own stories, a woman with a tremendous sense of humor, and an ebook specialist. Just recently, Julie edited and published Anthony Biagi’s book, The Homeowner Blueprint.

Jessica Santina

The second editor to join the team was Jessica Santina, who dove in with a huge project, the nonfiction book, Two Feet Back by Grant Korgan; most recently, Jessica managed From Dishrags to Dirtbags. Both books are beautiful and terrific reads. Jessica — our grammar & word queen —rocks! (Feel free, Jessica, to come in on this here blog and clean up my grammar. Always thankful for that!)

Louisa Swann

And then came Louisa Swann! A master of all publishing trades and an expert book designer, professional editor, a writer of fiction, and the world’s most calming influence, she is also relentless. Do not tell her it cannot be done; she’ll prove it can. She recently published Shoes of a Servant by Diane Benscoter and Bending Willow by Jacci Turner, and the upcoming The Altarpiece by Lauren Fogle Boyd.

Cindie Geddes & Judith Harlan

And finally, enjoying the shared work and love of books with the team are Cindie Geddes and me (Jude Harlan). We work as managing editors, too, and I have to say, that is one of the most inspiring things we do!  Cindie amazes me, truly. And in the true sense of the word. How lucky I am to have become her partner! She has the heart of a warrior.

In addition, Cindie loves to dive into ebook technology and all the new gadgets and apps and e-readers that crop up on a daily basis, keeping us on the cutting edge at all times. And meanwhile, I love working the web, setting up author websites, and coaching, as well as laying out book interiors. And reading, always reading!

And that’s the team.

Welcome, Joelle! We already love ya.
