I’ll never like this guy’s Facebook page, although his cause is an admirable one. And why? Here’s what tipped me off to the fact that this is a bogus page.
The man said, at the end of his talk: “and come to our Facebook page and ‘like’ us or ‘fan’ us or whatever they call it. I don’t know what they call it. I don’t have time for Facebook but we have admins who do that for us.”
Soooooooo, decisions makers and those in the know about this guy’s work are nowhere to be found on his Facebook page. If we go there, we’re talking to staffers hired to make it sound like we’re chatting with the author. (Yes, this guy is a film-maker, film based on a book. And it’s a heckofa good film, too. Too bad.)
Here’s an aphorism for authors to live by: If you don’t respect it, don’t use it.
